	Scouting Taos County Film Commission is fortunate to have a film commissioner, Jonathan Slator, with over twenty years in Film and TV production, 10 years of which were spent as an LA based location manager. We can therefore offer a thoroughly professional scouting service that will ensure you top quality photography laid out in a fashion you expect. Permits Filming on most of the private property in the Taos area does not involve a permit process. Due to the film commission's close relationships with many of the guardians of public property permission to shoot on public lands and roads can be obtained at surprisingly short notice and with remarkable ease. Also the officials of both the Town and the County of Taos are ready to do all they can to encourage the film industry to use the region. Services As a tourist destination town with over 2,000 beds Taos and its outlying towns (Questa, Red River, Angel Fire, Eagle's Nest) are used to accommodating and servicing large parties. The demands of a film company will present no insurmountable obstacles to the hoteliers, restaurauteurs and merchants. Production Guide Our production guide contains a comprehensive list of services available in the county plus fully qualified crew members willing to work in Taos as locals.
